Completely new terrain type for me, took me 3 controls to get the hang of part of it and some more silly mistakes to find out more - especially about the way white and yellow are used. Felt tired in the beginning, but running got better by the end - finish calling?
Detail:
1) Would have been easy enough, but I ended up too far east at another control and instead of correcting the right way was completely confused and went in the wrong direction first. 3 min.
2) Went pretty well and in control until shortly before the circle when I made a bad parallel error (saw the distinct white and a path and thought it was the white near the control with the path cause I didn't know that some white isn't very noticable in the terrain (took me until 6 to figure that out). After 2 wrong tries to get to the control I finally figured out what happened and found it. 8 min.
3) Would have been good, but missed the control in the circle by a slight margin and got myself pulled in the wrong direction. 2:20
4) Would have been perfect apart from the start, where I oriented the map to the south. 1:30 lost until I figured it out.
5) Spiked :)) Am I getting the hang of it?
6) Not really, obviously. Fine until near the control, then instead of using the distinct hill for orienteering I tried to use the depression and followed the wrong one. Was able to relocate when I finally figured out that it's just impossible to understand what's white and what's yellow sometimes, if there's no distinct border on the map, but that the ones with the distinct border are perfectly easy to see and use. Lesson learned and 5 min. lost.
7) Easy one and spiked.
8-10) Finally a perfect part of the course, should do all controls like this next time.
Total mistakes: 19:50 - lots of space for improvement obviously;)
